Eastern Market Wedding

Alex & Jory

Alex and Jory planned a large Jewish wedding and chose Eastern Market for obvious reasons: First, it’s an iconic Detroit spot that embodies everything they love about Detroit. Second, it is big enough to handle their massive guest list and all the energy in that room!

For a wedding this size, that matters.

The space can handle hundreds without feeling tight, with room for a full ceremony setup, dinner, and a huge dance floor.

The space is open and 100% flexible, so you can really turn it into whatever you need. I would say it’s one of the most versatile wedding venues in Detroit.

The Morning

They wedding party started the day at The Schvitz,

where Alex & Jory had rented out the entire space for their wedding party to spa to their hearts content.

Personally, I’m shocked they all didn’t need a nap after sauna-ing for 3 hours, but it was the perfect slow start to the busy wedding day.

After getting ready, Alex & Jory did private vows across the street at the American Riad. Check out the cool shadows the structure made! I was in photographer heaven.

Ceremony + Reception at Eastern Market

The rest of the day was at Eastern Market.

From their ceremony to the reception, everything was chefs kiss.

They had a live band playing Motown hits during cocktail hour and even a play area with couches for the kids. The dance floor was my favorite part though. I don’t think I’ve experienced a more energetic hora than that one. It was Movement weekend in Detroit and this wedding sure brought the energy.

Take a look at some of my favorite pictures from the day.
