An Intimate Wedding at BARDA Detroit
Ian and Sam rented out BARDA Detroit and kept their wedding simple.
Good food at their favorite restaurant in Detroit with the people they care about.
If you’re looking at small wedding venues in Detroit, this is the kind of setup that’s hard to beat.
Why BARDA Works
BARDA already feels complete. It doesn’t need much added.
The layout lets the day move naturally from one part to the next. A full buyout makes it feel private without being formal. It reads more like hosting a dinner than booking a wedding venue.
The Flow of the Day
The ceremony took place in the courtyard with immediate family only. Oh, and gorgeous floral arrangements from Mother of Pearl.
Guests joined after for cocktail hour. The layout of BARDA allows for different parts of the day to unfold without feeling disjointed. You can move from ceremony to cocktails to dinner without ever losing the atmosphere.
Dinner carried the night. BARDA served a multi-course meal that kept everyone engaged. It felt like being at your favorite restaurant, except every table was filled with people you know. Literally such an incredible feeling!!!!
After dinner, everyone moved outside for dancing after the rain stopped.
Why Restaurant Weddings Work
You start with a space that already functions well. The food is handled. The flow makes sense.
For smaller guest counts, it keeps things focused and avoids overbuilding the day or stuffing in activities that aren’t in line with your values as a couple.
There are plenty of small wedding venues in Detroit, but most require more setup. A restaurant like BARDA simplifies the process. What a perfect little wedding. I wish I could relive it all again!
